Breast englargement (breast implants)
Breast implant surgery consists in increasing the volume of small breasts due to heridity, after losing weight or from pregnancy and breast feeding.
During your first office visit I will talk to you about about scarring, the choice of implants and where they will be implanted.
We will conduct trials or even computer simulations which will allow me to understand what you really want from surgery.
We require a medical examination before surgery with a mammography, as well as a consultation with the anaesthesiologist.
Your hospital stay is 48 hours. The procedure takes place under general anaesthesic.
Some pain may be present, depending on the area in which the implant was placed. Discomfort should cease after a few days. Analgesic medication will be prescribed.
After surgery you will be fitted with a surgical bra that should be worn for one month. It will take 3 to 6 months to fully appreciate the effects of your enlargement.
Implants do not increase the risk of cancer. They allow for normal medical follow-up, and will not prevent you from having a normal pregnancy or breastfeeding.
