Ear Pinning Surgery
This procedure corrects congenital abnormalities of the cartilage in order to pin back the ears in a natural manner.
There are two possibilities for anaesthesia for this surgery: local anaesthetia or tumescent anaesthetia. The area must be prepared for the procedure with the application of the anaesthetic cream EMLA.
The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis. The patient arrives an hour before surgery and is released a few hours after. A consultation with the anaesthesiologist will be scheduled prior to surgery.
The scar is located in the natural fold behind the ear. Pain is moderate and painkilling medication is prescribed if necessary.
A headband or sweatband will need to be worn night and day for eight days, and at night for one month after surgery. Final results can be appreciated from one to six months after surgery.
