Practical Information
Do not plan any important social or professional events for 1 week after surgery.

Sleep with your head elevated on two pillows to reduce swelling. Use your Physiopack ice pack that Brigitte recommended as much as possible.

Eyelid Reconstruction

Upper or lower eyelid surgery provides correction for the signs of aging on the eyelids. It removes both hereditary imperfections and age-related imperfections. The eyes appear rested and relaxed and lose their fatigued appearance.

Many men and women in their 40s opt for eyelid surgery for a younger appearance.

Before any intervention, I will conduct a thorough examination during the initial consultation. You will also be asked to have a pre-operatory examination, and a consultation with the anaesthesiologist will be scheduled for you up to 48 hours before the surgery.

In case of severe opthalmological problems, I will ask that you be examined by a specialist.

Three types of anaesthesia are possible: local anaesthesia, tumescent anaesthetia, and general anaesthesia.

The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis in the clinic with release the same day, after a few hours in recovery.

Scarring on the upper eyelid is hidden in the fold of the lid. In certain cases, on the lower eye lid, the surgeon will perform an incision on the inside of the lid, leaving no visible scar on the skin.

There is no pain after surgery. There may be a bit of discomfort and a pulling sensation, slight eye irritation or perhaps some temporary visual disturbances.

There will be bruising and swelling for about 8 days after surgery.

Stitches are removed between the 5 and 7 days after surgery. Scars may remain pink for several weeks. Women can apply make-up 8 days after surgery.

Optimum results will be achieved in 3 to 6 months.
